Business Analyst - Perth

Our purpose is to help small businesses grow - we prepare meaningful financial accounts and improve the financial literacy of business owners
As a Business Analyst you sit between the people doing the work and the systems they use. You work out what our clients and our own team actually need, then shape the Xero apps, integrations and automation that deliver it
Your role
What your day looks like
You will work with business owners and our finance team to understand how work really gets done, find where time and money leak out, and design better ways of working - from a new app stack for a client to automation inside our own practice
Gather requirements
Talk with clients and our team to understand their needs, then document clear business requirements everyone can agree on
Map and improve processes
Map finance workflows end to end, spot the bottlenecks and double handling, and recommend better practice
Design systems
Assess the right Xero apps and integrations for each business, and write functional specs for automation and data flows
Plan and test
Plan implementations, write test plans, and check that what goes live actually does what the business needs
Document and train
Write user guides and training material, and help clients and our team adopt new systems with confidence
Model data
Use data and process models to show how information moves through a business, and support better decisions on every project

Experience
What you bring
- a bachelor degree in business, IT or accounting - or 5+ years of relevant experience with vendor certification
- experience gathering requirements and writing specifications
- a working understanding of finance processes and accounting systems
- Xero experience and familiarity with automation and integration tools
