We believe in supporting the communities in which we work, using our platform in business as a force for good

Community contribution

We exist to create happier businesses - that starts with our own people having the space to contribute to causes they care about. Good people want to do good outside of work too, and we think a business should make that easy, not hard

Our people give back to community each quarter in one of two ways -

  • donating a paid day to work for a for-purpose organisation, or
  • donating a day of their salary to a for-purpose organisation

Each person chooses a cause that is meaningful to them and aligned with their personal values

Sponsorships and funding

We believe business should be a platform for good, not just profit. Financial support from small businesses can make a disproportionate difference to for-purpose organisations, and we direct resources where they'll have real impact

We support for-purpose organisations through financial contributions towards their programs and initiatives, either as part of our charitable giving programme or as a sponsorship. We also offer discounted services, including subsidised Xero subscriptions

Supporting struggling businesses

Our purpose is creating happier businesses. Sometimes that means helping one that can't afford to pay full fees. We'd rather keep a business alive and improving than watch it fail for lack of financial advice

When a business is doing it tough, we step in with practical help -

  • pro-bono services to help manage cashflow
  • services under a Pay What You Can model
  • free advice on our website to improve financial literacy

Supporting local businesses

Small, independent businesses are who we exist to serve. How you spend your money matters - buying locally and supporting the businesses around you is one of the most direct ways a company can strengthen its community

Procurement

Where we can, we buy from our own customers. It's a small way to support them back

Where that's not possible, we prioritise sourcing products and services locally from independent small businesses ahead of larger corporations

Service

At least 75% of our client base consists of local, independent Australian small businesses. This is core to our purpose - we exist to serve the businesses that form the backbone of local communities, and we'll continue to prioritise this as we grow

Living wage

How a business treats its people says everything about what it actually values. We have team members in Australia and the Philippines, and fair pay in every location is non-negotiable - not because a framework tells us to, but because it's the right thing to do

Every team member is paid at or above the highest credible living wage benchmark available for their location

We use IDH-recognised living wage methodologies - including the WageIndicator Typical Family and Anker Reference Value benchmarks - as our reference points, and review these annually for each country in which we operate

Where multiple credible benchmarks exist for a location, we apply the highest. This applies to all team members regardless of role, seniority, or employment type

As of March 2026, our lowest-paid team member is paid 3x the living wage benchmark for their location in the Philippines

Compliance

Commitments without accountability are just words. We believe that if you're going to make public promises, you should measure whether you're keeping them - and be honest about the answer

We communicate this policy to all employees to ensure a broad base of understanding, and monitor the impact of our commitments

We conduct an annual review of compliance with this policy. The results are shared with the leadership team, and employees where appropriate
