Your outsourced finance team

A bookkeeper, a payroll specialist, a BAS agent, and an advisor. Most businesses pay for these as four separate relationships. We combine them into one team that works together inside your Xero file

An outsourced finance team replaces the patchwork of solo contractors, part-time bookkeepers, and end-of-year accountants that most small businesses rely on. Instead, you get a dedicated group of specialists who share a single view of your numbers and coordinate the work between them

Your books stay current. Your BAS gets lodged before the deadline. Payroll runs accurately every cycle. And when you need to make a decision about hiring, pricing, or cash, the data is already there

We built Digit around this model because it solves the problem we kept seeing. Businesses with $1M to $10M in revenue whose finances had outgrown what one person could manage, but who weren't ready to hire an internal finance department

Why a team, not a person

Most bookkeeping businesses in Australia are one to four people. That means if your bookkeeper gets sick, goes on holiday, or resigns, your accounts stop

An outsourced finance team works differently. Multiple people know your file. Processes are documented. There's a review layer between the work and the output. If someone is away, the work continues because the knowledge lives in the team and the systems, not in one person's head

It also means you get specialists where you need them. A bookkeeper who understands accrual accounting. A payroll specialist who lives inside modern awards. An advisor who can build a cashflow model. You don't get all of that from one hire

  • Built-in coverage No single point of failure. When one person is away, another picks up your file
  • Review layer Work is checked before it reaches you. Errors are caught internally, not by your accountant at year-end
  • Scales with you Start with bookkeeping. Add payroll when you hire. Add advisory when you need it. The team grows with your business
  • Fixed monthly fee No hourly billing, no surprise invoices, no lock-in contracts. The scope is agreed upfront and the price is predictable

Getting started

Every engagement starts with us reviewing your Xero file and understanding your business. We produce a detailed report with recommendations before we propose how to work together. The report is free. If you decide we're not the right fit, you keep it

Once you're on board, we set up access, learn your rhythms, and transition the work over four to six weeks. After that, your finance function runs on a schedule. Bank reconciliation stays current. BAS is lodged before the deadline. Pay runs happen without you chasing them. Monthly reports land in your inbox with numbers you can trust

You talk to your team directly. Not a help desk, not a ticket queue. The people doing the work are the same people answering your questions

Your tools, connected

A finance team is only as good as the systems it runs on. We connect the tools your business already uses to Xero so data flows automatically between them. Receipts from Dext. Timesheets from Deputy. Payments through Pinch. Jobs from SimPro. HR from Employment Hero. Each one feeds into your accounts without manual re-entry

We also automate the workflows around them. Invoice approvals routed through ApprovalMax. Debtor follow-ups triggered by ageing thresholds. Payroll data reconciled against your roster. The goal is removing the repetitive steps so our team spends time on accuracy, exceptions, and insight

We work with over 135 apps across our client base. If you're using a tool that connects to Xero, we probably already know it. If you're not sure what you need, we'll recommend the right stack for your business and configure it for you

  • App integration We connect your business tools to Xero and make sure data flows cleanly between them
  • Workflow automation Approvals, reminders, reconciliation rules, and data routing. Less manual handling, fewer errors
  • Setup and configuration We recommend, install, and configure the apps your business needs. No vague advice to "use technology better"

Industries we know

We work with businesses across professional services, trades and construction, health and wellness, manufacturing, retail, and hospitality. The compliance fundamentals are the same. The nuance is what changes

Subcontractor management and TPAR in construction. Mixed GST treatments in healthcare. High transaction volumes and POS reconciliation in retail. Inventory and job costing in manufacturing. Each industry has its own patterns, and we've built the workflows to handle them

Common questions about Our Services

For most businesses doing $1-10M in revenue, yes. An in-house bookkeeper costs $65,000-$85,000 per year in salary alone, plus super, leave, software, training, and workspace. Outsourcing typically costs a fraction of that - and you get a team, not one person. The bigger saving is what happens when that one person takes leave or resigns. With us, the file keeps moving because someone else is already across it.
No. We are registered BAS agents, not tax agents. We prepare and lodge BAS, prepare year-end workpapers, and hand a clean file to your accountant for tax preparation. We stay out of tax advice, entity structuring, and ATO correspondence on tax matters. If you do not have an accountant, we can recommend one.
Most of our clients are Australian businesses doing $1-10M in revenue, though we work with businesses up to $100M. The common thread is that they have outgrown doing the books themselves or relying on a single bookkeeper, and need a team that can scale with them. We work across professional services, trades and construction, health and wellness, manufacturing, retail, and property.
Our clients get a combination of bookkeeping, payroll, BAS lodgement, and monthly reporting as standard. Beyond that, we offer cashflow forecasting, business advisory, Xero conversions, AI and automation consulting, and one-off projects like catchup bookkeeping or Xero health checks. Every engagement is scoped to what the business actually needs - we don't sell a standard package and hope it fits.
Yes. Our head office is in Elizabeth Quay, Perth, but we work with businesses across Australia. Everything runs through Xero and cloud apps, so location does not affect the service. We have clients in Melbourne, Sydney, regional WA, and Queensland. Some have worked with us for years and never visited our office.
